We aren’t shy about tooting our own horn! The IABC Minnesota chapter received two Chapter Management Awards (CMAs) at last week’s 2017 Leadership Institute in Dallas, Texas. The awards were for Event Management and Professional Development.

One more exceptional announcement was the designation of Cindy Schmieg, ABC, as an IABC Fellow. The IABC Fellow is the highest honor the organization confers. It recognizes IABC members who have continually made an outstanding contribution to the communication profession, through exemplary achievement within their own organization and through unselfish service to IABC and its members.

About Cindy Schmieg, ABC
Schmieg is an award-winning strategic communicator. With 30-plus years of corporate, agency and consulting practice, she now teaches online within the communications master’s degree program at Southern New Hampshire University and face-to-face at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

She has served IABC as a director on the international executive board, a member of the Career Road Map committee, Pacific Plains Region director, and IABC Minnesota chapter president. Schmieg has earned numerous IABC Quill awards—bronze, silver and gold—and today serves as vice chair of IABC 2017 Gold Quill Awards and on the content team for IABC Minnesota’s annual Convergence Summit.

Congrats to Cindy Schmieg and the IABC Minnesota chapter
Join us in congratulating Cindy Schmieg, along with the board members and volunteers who helped IABC Minnesota achieve CMAs in Event Management and Professional Development.
