VP of Operations

IABC-MN is looking for someone to fill a two-year term as VP of Operations on the Board of Directors. The volunteer should be detailed oriented and willing to ask the right questions. Estimated monthly time commitment: 1-4 hours per month. Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Manage chapter dropbox account
  • Monitor chapter email account
  • Manage chapter subscriptions
  • Ensure chapter content from our editorial calendar is published monthly
  • Be a board liaison to website and email volunteer directors
  • Take meeting minutes
  • Set board meeting agendas in partnership with President
  • Other miscellaneous tasks

VP of Chapter Experience

This newly created IABC-MN board role is up for grabs. IABC-MN is looking for a person who can engage with our members using strong relationship skills as our new VP of Chapter Experience. This volunteer will be able to make this VP role their own, finding ways to interact with our members and provide value that creates a thriving Minnesota communication community. Estimated monthly time commitment: 2-5 hours per month. Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Drive a positive member experience by finding ways for members to connect
  • Plan and participate in at least four networking/development events
  • Coordinate with volunteers for our Connection groups
  • Oversee Peer Mentoring program
  • Find ways for young members to grow and nurture their careers
  • Work with our VP of Member engagement and VP or Recruitment to build a positive member experience

Sponsorship Coordinator

As the sponsorship coordinator, you’ll work with the VP of Sponsorship to ensure the implementation of sponsorship agreements. The role maintains sponsorship documentation and collaborates with events volunteers or others as needed on logistics. Time commitment: one to three hours per month.

Web Publishing Chair

Help the VP of Member Communications ensure IABCMN.com is kept up-to-date. Time commitment: one to three hours per month.

Day-Of Event Coordinator

Organize catering logistics, sit at the registration table at the beginning of the event, welcome attendees and coordinate any specific venue needs. Perks of this position are attending regular monthly events free of charge. Time commitment: two hours per month.

Event Partnership Manager

Reach out to local businesses and agencies to secure venues for luncheons, as well as speakers. The whole Professional Development committee will help brainstorm topics and businesses, and this volunteer will do outreach. Time commitment: one hour per week.

Director of Student Services

Develop relationships with faculty at local colleges to increase awareness of IABC Minnesota among both faculty and students. Lead development of College Speaker’s Bureau or other initiative to strengthen ties with academic community. Time Commitment: two to three hours per month.

Membership Coordinator

Work with the VP of Membership and Director of Member Engagement to help new and renewing members get the most value from their IABC membership. Coordinates Member Month campaign (two times a year). Explores opportunities to improve new member on-boarding experience. Time commitment: one to two hours per month.

Gift of Communication Committee Member (Two to three positions available)

Help organize the annual Gift of Communication event. If you are passionate about giving back to the Twin Cities nonprofit community and growing this event, this role is for you! Time commitment: two hours per month (Nov. – March).
