A message from Paul Omodt, Chapter President
Early in my career, a mentor encouraged me to join a professional association in order to
continue to learn new things, gain experience in other areas, and find a path forward for my
career. “Always keep moving forward, learn and grow. You’re never too old to learn, and
communications is constantly changing,” I was told.
As an eager, young overachiever, I joined not one but two professional associations – the
International Association of Business Communicators and the Public Relations Society of
America – figuring having international and domestic exposure to communications would
benefit me and my career. I wasn’t wrong as I have found my possible by not only having joined, but also actively involved in both.
In IABC, I have found “my tribe of nerds,” professionals like me who are eager to explore
communications beyond our shores and find possibilities to empower personal and
professional growth. It is fascinating to me to learn from communicators around the world and
see how they tackle challenges. I have found my possible through IABC which has brought me
endless opportunities to learn new things, hone leadership skills, and give back to the
profession. Today, as IABC Minnesota chapter president, I join my fellow chapter leaders in
extending our combined efforts to you to find your possible.

what you want it to mean within the bounds of everything an IABC membership has to offer. It
means your chapter leadership is there to assist you in getting the most from your membership
and the most from us, a dedicated team of professionals who are here to help you learn,
discover and grow. Whether your possible is one thing or many things, let your chapter leadership
know and we’ll make it happen, together.
